    Muddy dogs

Basil is my first rough coated dog, and he seems to collect 10x more mud and various plant material than a smooth haired dog. This time of year is especially bad because it's like a swamp outside with the constant rain 😂

Right now I'm using an old towel and pet wipes after every walk, but is there anything better? Other than bathing him, but obviously I can't do this every day.

Alice is a rough coat too, and compared with George gets far muddier, especially her legs and paws, though compared with the cockerpoos we often walk with she stays remarkably clean.

Luckily she and George are really good in the shower as I find this the best way of dealing with mud - just a rinse, no shampoo

George was addicted to fox poo - a good hack for this is to mix sodium bicarbonate in with your shampoo (I haven't found tomato ketchup any help at all)

Got one of those coats that cover all 4 legs, still have to wash the coat but it's reducing the clean up at least.

I have one similar to that for Alice but she doesn't like it 😭
I think it's partly the rustley noise it makes as she walks. I also have one of the 'Doggy Kings' coats which incorporates a harness which is quite convenient but doesn't keep her legs clean.
